Lee received his Bachelor’s Degree from Cal Poly – San Luis Obispo. He has worked in the insurance industry since 1982. He specializes in the senior market, focusing on Medicare. Lee does a thorough interview with his clients, evaluating their needs and helps them find the best product at the lowest cost and with the most benefits, so they are fully protected while being mindful of the financial aspects.
He began his career with Bridlewood, when a friend of his, Brian McArthur referred him. He liked their core value of always doing the right thing for the client, EVERY time. Lee loves helping people understand Medicare and their options, as it can be terribly confusing. He takes it slow and treats every client like they are his parents, being thoughtful and thorough until the understand the coverage they are choosing.
Originally from the Chicago area, Lee was recruited on a wrestling scholarship to Cal Poly and fell in love with California. He has been here ever since. Lee met his wife, Linda, and they’ve been married since 1995. They have 3 awesome kids – Capri (22), Taj (21) and Roman (15). His motto is to live life to its fullest, and his passion is helping people get and stay healthy through a plant-based, whole food diet and daily exercise. Lee has followed this regimen for over 40 years and has helped many people transition away from the standard American diet that causes the standard American diseases.
Kim Wetzel has worked in the financial services and insurance industries for over 20 years. Her passion for working with seniors was the catalyst for her making a career change to Medicare Insurance. Kim’s husband, Jeff Wetzel, started Bridlewood Insurance and she left the stock brokerage business to work with him. They have built Bridlewood into the award-winning Medicare insurance agency that it is today. As the business grew quickly, it became necessary for Jeff to hand off some of his responsibilities, and who better than Kim to take over servicing his 1,000+ clients, and keep adding to that number with her own book of business?
Kim loves her job, as it gives her deep satisfaction to meet with seniors and get to know about them, their families and their health concerns, and then help them find the best possible Medicare plan to meet their individual needs. She knows that the two most frequent questions almost all seniors have is, “do I have enough money to see me through retirement?” and “do I have the best health insurance to cover my needs?” With healthcare being such an important factor for her clients, there is no better feeling than to know that she helped guide them to make an informed decision that is most appropriate for their particular situation.
Kim and Jeff have been married for 35 years, and have four grown children, Derek, Madison, Alexys and Whitney. Madison married her longtime love, Chris, and they are expecting their first child (a little boy named Zack) in May 2020, making Kim and Jeff first-time grandparents. Her family is close-knit, and can often be found together at concerts, bowling, traveling, or boating on San Diego’s lakes and bays.
President & CEO Mr. Wetzel is President and CEO of Bridlewood Insurance Services Inc. Jeff’s dynamic work ethic and straight-forward approach, has made him one of the top leaders in this field, and has helped guide Bridlewood Insurance Services into one of the fastest growing Medicare agencies on the west coast and in multiple metropolitan areas across the country.
Following college at UNLV with a business major, Jeff and his wife Kim, moved to San Diego, and settled in Poway. Here, they raised four children over the past 30 years. Jeff and his family enjoy sporting events, boating and playing golf.
Robert, or Bobby to his friends, graduated from Madison High (San Diego) in 1984. He has worked in several different trades in construction, as a sub-contractor, and has always been able to stay busy. He has worked with laying tile, lath and plaster, electrical installation, framing and painting, and ironwork. He was a superintendent for Lennar Homes for years and when the recession hit in 2008, he was able to switch gears and work on tile installations, flooring and countertops. Realizing that laying tile is a “young man’s” job, he knew he needed to make a change. His older brother, Bill, had been selling Medicare for many years, and convinced Robert that he could still help people, but in a different and meaningful way. He understood how confusing and daunting Medicare could be for people, and really enjoys the satisfaction of helping them understand it and make a well-informed decision that is good for them. Robert offers everything from Medicare Supplement plans, which give you the flexibility to see almost any doctor you choose and which have a monthly premium, to Medicare Advantage plans that combine the Medicare Parts A (hospital), B (doctors and clinics) and D (prescription drugs) all in one nice, neat package. He loves to see the smile of relief on seniors faces when he has helped them make this critical decision more easily and confidently.
Robert was born in San Diego – raised in Claremont and now resides in Poway with his wife, Shannon. They have been together for 22 years and have 3 wonderful children, Teddy, Shasta and Austin. Their daughter has blessed them with a beautiful granddaughter, Serenity. With his intense love of fish, Robert has 9 fish tanks and raises African cichlids, peacocks and many other beautiful fresh water fish. He loves fishing, raising fish, bike rides and camping. He also enjoys barbecuing and smoking different food. He recently bought 2 kayaks, and he can’t wait to kayak and fish in the lake and ocean.
Brian works with retirees in San Diego like you, and their financial advisors, to help navigate his clients through the Medicare enrollment process. He helps clients understand:
– When they CAN apply vs. when they SHOULD apply?
– What does Medicare cover vs. what Medicare misses?
– Do you really need “Cadillac-style” benefits immediately, or can you wait to “ Go Big”?
– What are the trade-offs to not taking certain options immediately?
Most of Brian’s referrals come from financial advisors who want their clients to get help with the above, AND the following:
– Understanding what, if any, Medicare benefits cover Long-Term Care?
– How Medicare should be represented in a financial plan?
– How to build an income plan from retirement assets to ensure the client never misses a Medicare Supplemental Insurance premium?
– Offer a proactive solution to clients who have Medicare questions, and are being deluged by strangers offering Medicare help.

John began his insurance career as a life insurance specialist and gradually moved to health, property/casualty, and commercial with a large insurer. In 2017, he made the move to Medicare insurance only. John holds health licenses in California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, Texas, Utah, Tennessee, and Minnesota. With over 16 years of experience in the insurance industry, John is extremely well-suited to assist with all of his client’s insurance needs. He made the decision to join Bridlewood in 2017 with the help of my great childhood friend, who told him about the opportunity even before 2017, but he was not convinced until he attended an agent meeting with his friend. The energy and professionalism displayed at that meeting showed me enough to make the change. As a new agent, the company provided all the training and marketing ideas to get his business growing. This led him to the best part; it is very gratifying when he sits down with a new clients and takes away the confusion they are experiencing and really educates them on the process and plans that fit their needs. This is not a sales position, it is about taking care of someone’s health insurance and providing a service. He was excited at the prospect of helping Medicare-eligible seniors understand the complicated subject, educating them on their options, and finding the best coverage for their needs. He loves the opportunity to sit with seniors one-on-one and educate them about all the intricacies of Medicare and help them enroll in the best plan for their situation.
