Maureen McKenna aka Mo has over 30 years in the health insurance business. Mo transitioned with ease into Medicare from a career working with employer groups. She is a licensed independent agent in CA and many other states. By being independent she has no allegiance to any one insurance company. This is an advantage when you are ready to make your decision. You will know all your options and understand your choices with unbiased recommendations. Mo began working for Bridlewood part-time in 2015 and transitioned into full-time in 2019. She is laser focused on Medicare only so she can bring you value, understanding, and expertise.

Mo recognized the growing challenge that seniors experience understanding the Medicare maze and the difficulty making the right choices and decisions. Mo is passionate, caring and loves helping guide individuals through piles of material and filter through all the misinformation. Maureen loves meeting new clients and hear about their family and their needs they are facing and working together to have the best outcome.

Born and raised in CA Mo has lived in Sunny San Diego for over 35 years. She grew up in the SF Bay Area and relocated to San Diego after graduating from college. Once she settled here, she knew it was where she wanted to live her life, fulfill her career aspirations, and raise her family. Mo has 2 children in the healthcare field located here in SD and DC. Maureen is a Graduate of CSU, Chico with a BA in Economics and Marketing. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, golfing, gardening, and cooking, and most favorite passion is “live music”.

Chris has worked with Life, Health and Accident insurance, and is specializing in Medicare.  He received a recruiting letter from Bridlewood insurance, and after meeting with the President, Jeff Wetzel, and his agent manager, Bill Murray, Chris decided to try this new adventure.  He enjoys the challenge of trying something new, and at the same time he is helping seniors with a very important decision they have to make. Chris offers Medicare Advantage plan, Prescription Drug plans, Supplement plans and Dual/Chronic Special Needs plans. Dual plans are designed for those seniors who have both Medicare and Medicaid. Chris loves educating people on their Medicare options.

Chris is originally from Vietnam, and now resides in San Diego.  He is single now and has two children, one who is attending UCLA and the other is in 4th grade. They have four canaries, who are excellent songbirds.  In his spare time, Chris enjoys watching movies, music, travel, riding motorcycles and fishing.

Lauren Smith is the owner of Lauren Smith Insurance Services, Inc, and has partnered with Bridlewood Insurance Services in 2017.

She has extensive training and has worked in the insurance industry for over 20 years. Lauren’s hard work and dedication to her craft have made her a top producer in her field. Her success has come from her attention to detail with each client she works with. Lauren represents a variety of top-rated local and national carriers. She believes not one plan is right for everyone, and takes the time to find out each client’s needs and guide them to the best plan for them.

Jennifer has a Bachelor of Science degree from Northern Illinois University.  She is a licensed insurance agent, and has recently decided to focus on Medicare sales.  She specializes in Medicare Supplement, Advantage and Prescription Drug plans.  She decided to work with Bridlewood insurance based on their strong support system for their agents, providing them all the tools necessary to be successful.  She enjoys being able to help others and provide them access to better insurance to handle their health needs and to improve their quality of life.

Originally from a small town in Illinois, Jennifer has resided in California for about 20 years.  She has two energetic children, Aviana (11) and Lily (9), and a 14 year old schnoodle named Bailey and a hamster named Cheerio.  Jennifer loves spending time with her family, hiking and Tae Kwon Do.

Carmen attended college with a major in accounting.  She has also been a legal secretary, and in 1996 became a licensed Life Insurance, and more recently a licensed Medicare Agent.  Carmen also works as a Family Service Counselor at a local Funeral Home, assisting families with making final arrangements for their loved one.  She loves working with people in need of her services, and Medicare seemed like the perfect fit.  She treats her clients the way she would like to be treated, with patience, respect and compassion.  Carmen also likes to empower her clients with knowledge, so that they can confidently make an informed decision about their healthcare.  She started her career with Bridlewood because she loves the knowledgeable, positive, helpful people there.  Because Carmen is bilingual, she is uniquely qualified to assist a very underserviced group of people – latino seniors.

Originally from Mexico, Carmen has resided in Chula Vista, California for 50 years.  She is divorced and has two beautiful daughters and seven grandchildren.  She also has two female Yorkie terriers.  She loves going for long walks, sewing and crochet.

Ken has his Bachelors of Science in Finance, Real Estate, and Law from Cal Poly Pomona and graduated in 2002.  While in college, he had an internship with Merrill Lynch and Northwestern Mutual.  After graduating, he accepted a full time position at Northwestern Mutual insurance company.  He assists his clients will comprehensive financial planning, after listening and determining what is most important to them.  He began assisting individuals with understanding Medicare – the rules, the benefits, timelines and how to enroll.  Once enrolled in Medicare, he is then able to educate them about Medicare Supplement plans (a.k.a. Medi-Gap plans) that work with stand-alone Prescription Drug plans (Part D) and also Medicare Advantage plans (Part C).

Helping clients understand the piles of mail they have received since about 8 months before they turned 65, his favorite response from his clients after spending about 15 minutes discussing Medicare is, “I’ve learned more from you in the last few minutes, than in all the reading and research I have done on my own!”  He takes great pleasure in saving clients money by changing their plan to one that may have better and more benefits at a lower cost. Ken currently lives in Chino Hills and has called Chino Hills home since 2009.  He also has an office in Anaheim Hills and a secondary office he can use in Newport Beach.  He was born in Fullerton, CA and grew up in Placentia, CA.  Ken met his wife while attending school at Cal Poly Pomona, and they have a 10 year old daughter.  He enjoys golf, reading the Wall Street Journal and spending time with his family.  His daughter is still at the age where she wants to be around him and like to play rough.  She is getting big and it is starting to hurt!

Hannah attended Cal Poly San Luis  Obispo.  She has worked for the past several years in the Health Insurance industry.  She really enjoys working with seniors, to help them navigate the complicated Medicare system, and helping them find the best plan for their personal situation.

Hannah grew up in San Diego, and currently resides in Solana Beach.  She loves beach volleyball, surfing and yoga.

As a native San Diegan, our home town has experienced a lot of change throughout the past decades. What a wonderful time of life to live here. Stewart has a BA in Communications Design from California State University, Chico.  He has built his career in marketing and advertising for 20 years, having built up brands and companies including Nature’s Agave and Thinkbig Marketing.  He was sidelined by cancer almost 4 years ago. Fighting it became my full time job. Immersed in the managed health care system, dealing with insurance that placed him with different network specialists, and piles of bills or “EOB’s” that never made sense, he became very frustrated. From this experience, Stewart decided to dedicate himself to helping simplify Medicare for seniors, and advocating solutions available for little or no cost.  His focus is on Medicare Advantage and Supplement plans.

After speaking with a Bridlewood Agent, Cathy Wilkerson, about becoming an insurance producer, she spoke so highly of Bridlewood and the opportunities offered to its agents, that Stewart knew he had found the right agency to work with.  His favorite part of his job is connecting with seniors who may or may not be tech savvy, and truly finding a plan that meets their medical needs. That’s why he became an agent, to help demystify Medicare plans to those who rely upon the program for their future healthcare coverage.

Stewart grew up in Northern California in the town of Danville. After graduating college in Chico, he decided that Southern California was where he wanted to be. So he moved to Hermosa Beach, and worked for many years for Paramount Pictures Studio. That’s when he met his wife, Julia.  They have been married 27 years, and have 2 children, ages 23 and 21. Both kids are out of the house, so they are empty nesters!  For fun Stewart enjoys surfing, golf, fishing and hiking.

James has a Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University.  After a long career, James decided to focus on selling Medicare.  His specialties are Medicare Supplement and Advantage plans, as well as Prescription Drug plans.  He came to work for Bridlewood Insurance because of their excellence among their peers as an organization that helps their agents learn and train to be the best in their field.  He also really likes their great management team that is always supportive and very accessible.  James loves helping new people, especially seniors that are new to Medicare and maybe feeling overwhelmed.  He enjoys educating them and assisting them in finding the best coverage that meets all their requirements and needs.

James was born and raised in California, and lived in quite a number of Southern California cities before settling in San Diego.  He and his wife, Nancy, have been married for over 30 years and have two daughters, Katie (26) and Megan (24).  Katie is a civilian, working with the Navy, training dolphins.  Megan is a nurse in Arizona.  Steve’s favorite pastimes are spending time with his wife and daughters, usually doing outside activities.  They enjoy any and all kinds of musical concerts, and short “staycations” to local towns and parks.
