Bridlewood has an excellent reputation in the industry, I made the switch to them about 5 months ago and I haven’t looked back!
I love when I talk with my clients and I put their mind at ease! Medicare planning is stressful along with other life changing events, I do everything I can for my clients to say “Mike has it covered, one less worry.”
I’m from New Jersey and currently reside here, although, I lived between NYC and Tampa, FL for the past 15 years.
My beautiful wife of 13 years, Sherri has blessed me with three angels! My oldest is Gia(10 years old), Adriana (8), and Michael(6). They do keep me on my toes and my house is a nut house, but I wouldn’t want it any other way.
With three active kids, I’m either an assistant coach or head coach for soccer, baseball, basketball and now hockey! lol. I’m a member of Tavistock Country Club and I hope one day to find the time to improve my golf game. My wife and I love to travel and have some great trips planned, but family time is sacred to us.

Sheryl’s sister introduced her to Bridlewood in the Spring of 2020. She had just began studying for her licensure at that time, and as she learned more about the company and their programs, she was impressed by the encouragement, support and numerous trainings they offered. Sheryl completed her licensing in September and is excited to be a part of Bridlewood’s community. She believes that her favorite part of her job will be helping individuals find the right plan to cover all their needs. Sheryl’s desire is to be involved in a business that truly cares about each person and delivering personalized plans that fit their unique needs.

Imagine, sitting on the porch on a cool fall morning. The leaves have just started to change, and the song of migrating birds grace your ears. A warm cup of coffee in your hand as you rock back and forth. In this moment, peace flows into you. You are afforded the time to breathe without a care in the world.
That feeling is what Jake gives to everyone who becomes one of his clients. A feeling that everyone who has grown up in his hometown of Monroe Michigan has experienced at one point or another. Where other Medicare agents might treat you as a customer, Jake will treat you as trusted friend and lifelong colleague when handling all of your Medicare needs. How does he do this? By partnering with Bridlewood Insurance and living the only two rules that one needs to follow to have a fulfilling career.
Those rules are…
- ALWAYS, no matter what and without hesitation, do what is best for the client. Every time, no exceptions.
- Follow rule #1
Jake spent five years at Michigan Technological University to obtain a bachelor’s degree in business management. Those five years were filled with countless trials and hard work. The determination that he embodied to achieve this life milestone is the same determination that he puts in to making sure that your needs are met. Jake goes to work for you from the very first call and continues working for you every day thereafter. He asks all the questions that you may not have considered to make sure that each recommendation he gives is tailored specifically to your needs. By the time the initial conversation is done, he will have identified your needs and immediately begins exploring every option that you have. If there is a Medicare product available in your area, you can rest assured that he has looked at it and is applying your needs to it to ensure that you will get the quality care that you deserve.
In addition to thoroughly understanding your needs, Jake will make sure that you fully understand everything concerning your Medicare. If it takes fifteen minutes or thirty, Jake will make sure that when it comes time to decide, that you can say without a shadow of a doubt that you have all the information that you need. If he doesn’t know the answer to something when you call, he will do whatever it takes to make sure that you get the full and complete answer.
Having spent the last five years in the manufacturing world, Jake thoroughly understands how complicated health insurance can be, and Medicare is no exception. No one sat down and really explained his benefits when signing those employer contracts, and it wasn’t until after he signed that he learned critical things he needed were covered. These experiences have driven him to dive deep into Medicare, and ensure that no one else has the same experiences that he has had.
By choosing to go through Jake for your Medicare needs, you are taking the first steps in a lifelong friendship. From answering questions to providing you with entertaining newsletters every month, Jake will never be more than a phone call away. Don’t let the complexities of Medicare frustrate you any longer. Give Jake a call.
Let Jake at Bridlewood help you on your Medicare journey!
Rafael Nunez is a knowledgeable, caring Medicare agent with Bridlewood Insurance. He received a Business Administration degree from Illinois Wesleyan University. Rafael has been in the insurance business for more than a decade, both as an agent and an agency owner. He managed 57 Medicare agents for a Fortune 100 company, specializing in Medicare Advantage plans, Prescription Drug Plans and Medicare Supplement plans. Rafael decided to join Bridlewood a year ago, because he appreciated the straightforward approach and motivation of the President, Jeff Wetzel. They both have the same primary objective – do what is best for the client, EVERY time! Before he leaves a client’s house, he asks himself, “Did I do for them what I would do for my parents?” He feels if he answers “yes”, he has done his job well.
Rafael is a Chicago native, born and raised. As a young business professional, he moved to the suburbs and has lived there for over 20 years. He enjoys working out, and tries to stay in shape. He loves to play (and watch) most sports, particulary baseball, basketball and football. Rafael really enjoys traveling, and seeing and trying new things – like the exhilaration he gets from hobbies like skydiving, bungy jumping and ziplining.
Nicole has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from University of Wisconsin, Green Bay, with majors in Accounting and Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance. She worked as a regional Business Development Manager for UnitedHealthcare for more than six years, and is Health Insurance licensed in all 50 states. She has become known amongst her colleagues as the expert on Medicare for veterans. She also specializes in helping those who are in the process of retiring even if they are not quite of Medicare age yet.
While United Healthcare provided her a great opportunity with great training and experiences, it didn’t sit right with her to present products from only one company. She spent a lot of time praying and reflecting and felt she was being called to become an independent broker so she could use her talent of understanding Medicare to help people choose the right plan for them, regardless of who the insurance company is. Nicole felt like Bridlewood was a natural fit for her, with their emphasis on always putting the clients needs first. Her favorite part of what she does happens when she comes into contact with someone who is obviously overwhelmed by their Medicare options. She loves being able to explain Medicare, ask questions, and then lay out their options in a way that makes it easy to understand and takes the burden off their shoulders. You can tell they feel so relieved after they have talked, and it’s great to know she can do that for people.
She grew up in Casco, Wisconsin and resides now in Green Bay, WI. Nicole and her husband, Chad, have been together for 6 years and have 3 energetic boys and 2 dogs, so they are certainly never bored. When it’s nice outside she enjoys walking through the woods with her boys and they love to spend time at the family cabin in upper Michigan. As the kids get older, more and more time is spent at flag football, soccer, t-ball, etc.
William, who goes by Jay, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Iowa. He has been a licensed Life Insurance agent and Financial Advisor for more than 5 years, and a Marketing Coordinator for 2 years. After working in the Insurance industry to several years, Jay decided to add Medicare to his portfolio, and offers a full range of Medicare products to his clients, including Medicare Advantage, Special Needs plans, Medicare & Medicaid plans and Low Income Subsidy.
He is focused on Medicare because he realizes how large of a market it is, with a huge demand for someone to educate and help seniors with their Medicare planning. Jay was eager to join Bridlewood’s team of agents, due to their vision, leadership and support. They do things the right way, while always keeping the client’s needs as their top priority. His favorite part of his job is helping simplify the entire Medicare process so his clients do not feel overwhelmed. He enjoys helping them find the plan the suits their needs – when the client feels good about their coverage, he feels good about his job!
Jay was born in Iowa City, and raised in a small town called What Cheer. He has lived in Eastern Iowa all his life. He and his girlfriend Nikki have been together 5 years, and he is the proud father of 3 boys – Ayson, Jaxen and Declan. In his free time he loves spending time with his family and friends. Deb graduated from Exira High School. She has more than 17 years experience in the hospitality industry, in a variety of sales and consumer-focused roles, including event coordinator and sales, corporate sale and association sales. She is licensed with the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission (IRGC) and was awarded the 2015 Iowa Lodging Association Employee of the Year.
Deb’s has shifted her focus to helping seniors with their Medicare Advantage plans, and also specializes in helping people who have both Medicare and Medicaid (Medi/Medi). The Medicare business is a family dynamic – her stepson worked for UnitedHealthcare and recruited her husband, Larry Roberts, as an internal agent with UnitedHealthcare. As Larry’s business grew, he added Deb’s son, Zeb Christensen, as an agent, along with other people who were looking for a fun and challenging new career. When they met Jeff Wetzel from Bridlewood Insurance, both Larry and Zeb decided to join this fast-growing, Medicare specific agency. Soon, they were both prompting Deb to join, as well. Since she already loved helping people and building long-term relationships, Medicare was an easy shift.
Deb grew up in Exira, Iowa. With a population of 900 people, her parents were well known in the community, and operated a successful fertilizer plant for more than 20 years. She and her dad also owned and managed a greenhouse business for a number of years. After meeting Larry, he and Deb moved to central Iowa, where three of their combined 4 children graduated. They now reside in a beautiful home in Ankeny, and have been there for 5 years. She and Larry have been married for 17 years, and with their blended family of two kids each, they now enjoy 5 grandchildren together – Aiden, Lainey, Hanes, Beau and Elodie. She enjoys reading, golfing and spending time with their family.
Larry Roberts attended West Marshall High School and graduated from Waldorf College. Larry had an extensive sales background before becoming a Medicare agent. What surprised him most about Medicare sales, is that he really isn’t selling anything, he is helping seniors solve a problem – making sure they had the best health care coverage for their particular needs. Larry specializes in Medicare Advantage and Low Income Subsidy plans. He joined Bridlewood Insurance because he wanted to be able to offer all the different carrier’s products to his clients, so that they truly have the most appropriate plan.
Larry enjoys meeting new people and being able to educate and guide them through the Medicare process. He is also the Regional Director of Sales for Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Nebraska, and manages a terrific team of agents.
Larry is from State Center and currently resides in Ankeny, IA. He has been married for 15 years to his beautiful wife, Deb, and has 4 children and 4 grandchildren. Larry has been involved in coaching for over 20 years and has enjoyed playing 16″ recreational softball for close to 40 years, but as of right now he is trying to spend as much as time as he can with his grandkids and has started to golf a lot more. He enjoys golf and the fact that his body seems to recover quicker from golfing than softball!
Duhran attended East High School and Central Academy in Des Moines, Iowa. He has over 10 years of experience in the insurance field, specializing in Medicare. He assists those people who are turning 65 find the best suited Medicare plan for them. Duhran offers Medicare Advantage and Supplement plans, along with Medicare Prescription Drug plans, helping his clients get the best coverage, while keeping their rates as low and affordable as possible.
Duhran met his Bridlewood Regional Manager, Larry Roberts, several years ago and found that both Larry and one of the largest Medicare Insurance companies in the area, kept referring him to Bridlewood Insurance. They both confirmed that Bridlewood was a great company to work for, and truly supports all of it’s agents and their motto was the same as his own . . . do what’s right for the client EVERY time! Duhran loves meeting with seniors and really educating them about Medicare and what their choices are for supplemental insurance, to cover those things that original Medicare doesn’t. He feels truly rewarded when he sees them grasp what he’s teaching them and gaining their trust. His clients feel so relieved when he is able to clarify the complicated Medicare maze for them and answer all their questions.
Originally, Duhran was born in southern Kansas, but was raised in Des Moines since he was 5. He is father to a wonderful 10 year old name Ryker. In his spare time, he enjoys playing all sorts of sports – softball, basketball, football and golf. In the winter you will find him traveling around snow skiing, and during the summer he loves boating, water skiing and wakeboarding.
