Scripps Update
Two major healthcare providers in San Diego, Scripps Coastal Medical Center and Scripps Clinic, will no longer accept the SCAN Health Plan starting January 1st, 2024. As a member of the SCAN Health Plan, you will be notified directly by mail next week. Scripps decided to terminate the partnership due to increasing healthcare costs and inadequate reimbursements from payers. SCAN Health Plan is the largest provider affected, with almost 20,000 members in San Diego. We understand this news may come as a surprise, and we want to ensure you have all the information to make the best decision for your healthcare needs.
What Are Your Options:
1. If you prefer to continue seeing your current Scripps Clinic or Scripps Coastal doctors, there are several options available. Please get in touch with your Bridlewood Insurance agent or contact us directly and we will help you determine the best course of action.
2. If you stay with your current SCAN Health Plan, you will be assigned a new doctor who accepts the SCAN HMO plan. The medical groups available are UCSD, Optum, Mercy Physicians, and San Diego Physicians Medical Group (SPMG).
