Steve Cox is a licensed Insurance Broker/Agent in Colorado and Arizona. After 7 years working with only UnitedHealthCare, Steve moved to Bridlewood Insurance Services which allows him to offer products to his clients from all the insurance companies, rather than just one. He came to Bridlewood after receiving a recruiting call from the CEO, Jeff Wetzel. Steve asked around, and after multiple conversations with prior co-workers who had moved to Bridlewood, he realized that they have a fantastic reputation for agent support and customer service.
Steve also worked 36 plus years with the Aurora Police Department, and worked as a Police Detective for 24 of those years. Steve’s favorite part of his job is when a client calls him and compliments him on his attention to detail and his thoroughness when helping them select the right Medicare insurance plan. It lets him know he did the right thing for that client. As his job history indicates, Steve likes helping people. Working with Medicare insurance has allowed him to interact with Seniors, to help them understand their benefit options.
Steve has lived in Colorado since 1977 and has called Aurora, Englewood, Highlands Ranch, Denver and Castle Rock home during that time. Steve was born in Germany in 1960 when his dad was stationed at the Army base in Augsburg. Prior to moving to Colorado he went to five high schools in five different states and had moved over 20 times. Only a part of those moves were due to his being an “Army Brat”. The rest were made as his Dad moved up the corporate ladder. Steve has been married to his wife, Valerie, for 38 years. They have a 26 year old son who lives in Michigan working for a substance abuse rehabilitation center. Steve has had four Labrador Retrievers, but currently only have two little dachshunds (Auggie and Ringo). Steve and his wife love to camp, travel and spend time with family. They bowl on a league during the winter and like to play softball in the summer. Fishing and reading Louis L’Amour paperbacks while camping are his way of relaxing.
