Martin Petersen is a long time financial services professional, with his Series 6, 63 and 65 licenses and a Life & Health insurance license. Martin attended Southwest Tennessee Community College and Memphis Vocational Technical School. Although he attended college in Tennessee, he is a Grand Junction, Colorado native. Over the last 25 years he has lived in several different states, but in 2012 he moved home to Colorado, and plans to make this his final move, coming full circle.

After his parents retired in Florida, Martin received a call from his father who was looking for help understanding why he had thousands of dollars’ worth of medical bills he was entirely responsible for from an injury he sustained. Only knowing under 65 health insurance products, Martin had to explain to his father that he knew little about Medicare. Still, he would find a Medicare agent so they could all sit down and figure it out together. So, when his parents returned to Colorado, he sat down with them alongside a Medicare agent.  Martin not only learned why his father was entirely responsible for the medical bills, but he was also baffled by the complexity of Medicare. He discovered trying to navigate Medicare without the help of a professional, and choosing an appropriate plan was a long shot, giving him the motivation to learn more about Medicare. By the spring of 2018, he transitioned into Medicare and became hooked after helping his first client! It was the first time anyone thanked him for helping them with their insurance options, and the gratification was incredible.

Martin’s motivation for joining Bridlewood was an acute awareness that he was doing a disservice to his existing financial practice clients by not being able to offer Medicare insurance services. By not including this critical piece in their Portfolio, it hindered his commitment to ongoing counseling for these clients as they experienced their transition to retirement. So in January 2018, Martin made it his New Year’s resolution to add this valuable service to his business model. He attended one of Bridlewood’s agent meetings, and really related to their approach to Medicare insurance.

Whether it is creating peace of mind for a senior overwhelmed with all the various options and plans for Medicare supplemental insurance, or advising them on building and saving for their retirement, Martin is a committed professional, whose personal goal is to always do what’s right and best for his clients. Martin’s daughter Jolie is the twinkle in his eye, and she has her dad wrapped around her little finger. He is an avid 4-wheeler, and loves to spend time in the mountains camping, hiking and 4-wheeling.
